| Ford78 wrote 1996 Ford Escort Costworth WRC 1998, in 96, it had was a Group A car and it had the Cosworth rear wing and had a white / orange / black Repsol paintjob. In 1997, the new WRC version was introduced and it got this rear wing, whilst still retaining the Repsol sponsorship, in 1998 the WRC Escort ran in this white and blue paintjob, after Carlos Sainz Sr who had the Resol sponsorship with him left for Toyota which he drove in 98 and 99. When joining Toyota, Carlos Sainz got a new sponsor : Telefonica Movistar, since Toyota was aldready sponsored by another oil company : Castrol. | |
