Norman Bates is right, this should be a 244, not 240 [244]. The 240 series weren't badged as '240' before 1983, and this is a 1974-1978 model European version (single round headlamps).

Yes it is. But I'm fairly certain that's the chssis code only. The name itself should be 240.
