What do you mean they're in Australia? The M1 also performs way better. It accelerates almost twice as fast as the DMC-12, has a way higher top speed, and was simply designed with racing in mind. Fact: In Australia, the Rebel was not offered as a 2-door, only the 4-door sedan and station wagon were offered, and they continued production into 1971, after US production ended in 1970. There were also Rebels built in New Zealand, by Campbell Industries in Thames. Both Australian and NZ built models retained the 1967 Ambassador dashboard and instrument unit, and unlike Australian built ones, Campbell built Rebels never received the new AMC 360 V8 in 1970, sticking with the older 304ci V8.
