First generation US market Focus models were built in either Wayne, Michigan or Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico.

The Focus was/is developed by Ford Europe/Germany and it is built for the US. Only the 2008-2011 Focus which was sold in the US, was actually a facelifted MkI Focus but it was made especially for the US market.
