Trans American racing series ( shortened as Trans Am ) started in America in the 1960s as a racing series for smaller muscle cars, like the Mustang, the Camaro Z28 , AMC Javelin and Pontiac Firebird, Plymouth Barracuda, later in 1970, the Dodge Challenger T/A and the PLymouth AAR`Cuda would also join the show. The engines were capped at 5 liters ( or 305 cubic inches ) If you wonder where the Pontiac Firebird Trans am got it`s name from ? It was from this series, even though neither the Pontiac Firebird or Trans am had that much success in the series, but on the streets it was the must have for muscle car fans -- Last edit: 2024-10-16 22:03:10
