This is closer to a 1980-1982.

Bit of trivia; For 1979 the front end was updated with this appearance, but the rear was left until 1980. The rear lights are larger and don't have chrome trim like the 1976-1979 models did. The unpainted steel bumpers were also kept until 1983.

Yup, although front did remind me of an Opel, it can be related to the Chevy Chevette, the GM connection.
