| On May 26 the game was confirmed to be coming to North America on September 21st, 2010 and Europe on September 24th, 2010. Atari have also announced that Test Drive Unlimited 2 will feature dynamic weather effects, day and night cycles, and vehicle damage. They have also mentioned that the game will take place on Ibiza. After enough gameplay, players will be able to return to an expanded and updated Oahu from the previous game. Players will be able to customize both their characters and their vehicles.There will be a storyline in TDU2 to follow for the player. To progress through the game, the player has to earn experience points. These can be earned via various ways, such as racing with friends and clubmembers, but also by driving like a daredevil and performing stunts, like drifting through turns. Exploring the island lets the player find vehicle wrecks which will unlock exclusive vehicles at the dealerships on the island, which automatically confirms the return of manufacturer showrooms like in the previous game. The player can also walk out of the car in certain areas. The player's avatar can also be customized. Customizations included hair, clothes, physical appearance and their attitude, and they can also buy houses. Co-op will also make an appearance in the game. Vehicles feature cosmetic damage which does not affect the behaviour and technical aspects of the vehicles. There is no option to manually repair the vehicle, by resetting to the road or visiting a house the car may get fixed. Rainfall does affect the handling of the vehicles though, and also influences the appearance of a vehicle as rain washes off dirt. Eden has also spent years working on a new physics engine to ensure each vehicle has its own driving behaviour. New details and functions have been added, such as different headlight modes, turning signals and working convertible roofs. There is also a vinyl-editor which is said to be similar to that of Forza Motorsport. |

| Ferrari appeared as DLC on NFS Shift... The problem is licensing. NFS holds the license for Porsche (hence why all games have RUF instead) Forza managed to get them, because Microsoft have the rights for Ferrari, and they made an agreement. BMW is a mistery (i don´t know who holds the license, but it´s funny that TDU have Ferrari but not BMW) I once posted this, but again, the current situation is the following: TDU have Ferrari, but not BMW and Porsche. GT have BMW and Ferrari, but not Porsche. NFS have BMW and Porsche, but not Ferrari (except Shift) Forza have all. A mess, this is what is is... |

| For me, only true games from 'Test Drive Series' are the first ones to the 7th title (Test Drive: Overdrive [2002]). Reason - Pitbull Syndicate and Accolage. The 7th one was just great one, besides the plot they added. Then came Eden and Test Drive Unlimited. And I still refuse to play them, played TDU once and the beta of TDU2. I think Need for Speed (even the releases for the Wii) are getting better for me. Still I really nervious wait untill the NFS releases for 2011 come, and Driver: San Francisco |

| I ve been playing this for a week now, and i do like it, but im also disappointed. Way too many cars and brands lost compared to the original, (TDU1 had way more makes and cars as we know). I also dont like the way theyve turned things in to championships with the different classes, there definitely seems lesser races and stuff. I liked just going to all of them individually all over the map. 6/10 |

| It's not really the graphics overall that's the problem (they seem alright to me anyway), it's the extremely lazy design of the traffic cars. They are basically just generic car models with some pseudo-European styling, relatively low detail and some really shoddy texturing. The traffic cars in TDU1 were much more detailed, and their real-life counterparts were much more apparent. It's like they weren't even trying this time around. Minor nit-pick, but still worth a mention IMO. |

| i am currently stuck at the A5 license mountain test with the V8 Vantage in Oahu.. | Its only annoying cos when learning its automaticcaly in Sport mode so it hasnt got full traction, when full assistance is on in races, the V8 vantage handles fine since i chose it over the db9 and other a5s. One annoying thing about the license is the slaloms between cones. What is that seriously trying to teach you, not once ever in any race do you slow right down to slalom between narrow cones on a straight, its completely pointless. |

Has anyone here, on the 360 version, been in a ranked match, and someone appeared, with no car visible, and if you look at the area where the car should be, it keeps flashing, and the stats page/area lists the vehicle as a Wiesmann Roadster MF3? That just happened to me, but I have no way to visually prove it unfortunately, so i'm not sure if the same thing has happened to any of you guys. This...is wierd... |

| Oh well, i loved the first TDU, played it all the time back in summer 2009. The second one dissapointed me, alot. I was obviously not the only one to be disapointed by it, there are many not-so-good reviews of the game, and that's why i thought that Eden gave it up, as in "TDU 3 will be as disapointing as TDU 2, so let's not make it in the first place". | The only thing that surprises me about this is that they hadn't been shut down sooner. To make things even more disappointing, it seems Atari would have to sell off the Test Drive series in order for the series to get another quality game, since Monster Games (the studio behind Eve of Destruction) works with Nintendo now, Accolade (involved with all Test Drive games from the original thru 6, plus the first 3 Off Road games) has been defunct since 1999, and the other developers of the Off Road games are as follow: - Elite Systems (original Off Road): focused on mobile games - Pitbull Syndicate (Off Road 2): defunct in 2009 - Infogrames (Off Road 3): also defunct in 2009 - Angel Studios (Off Road: Wide Open): now part of Rockstar Games (Rockstar San Diego) That, and the fact that Slightly Mad Studios is busy with Project CARS, it seems unlikely the Test Drive series will survive without being picked up by another company. |
