Rogers Locomotive Works American Type 4-4-0 Railway Empire (2018) | I've found a PDF of illustrations of dozens of 4-4-0 locomotives from the 1850s, the Lowell Machine Shop 'Columbia' on page 21 is a very close match. The only thing that is putting me off IDing it as that is the name - it doesn't make sense that they'd just pick the name 'Rensselaer' out of thin air, when most of the other trains in the game use their real names. I do have a feeling that somewhere out there, in some obscure reference book, there is probably a real locomotive called the Rensselaer (or one from the Rensselaer & Saratoga Railroad) that is a perfect match.

Rogers Locomotive Works 4-6-0 Railway Empire (2018) | I really don't see how this is unknown. I mean, the in-game name is what this type of locomotive is in real life. A Rogers 4-6-0.

Doncaster Works Class A4 Mallard Railway Empire (2018) | Is Doncaster Works the right thing to classify as the manufacturer? Wouldn't; London North Eastern Railway be better? The website has always called stuff by the company that made it, not the factory it was made. I know WW2 tanks are usually classified by their factories, but that's different. Those were made by a country that commissioned a factory to make them, not a company. This locomotive was made by a private company, i.e; the London North Eastern Railway. I mean; we call it the Ford Crown Victoria, not the St. Thomas Assembly Crown Victoria. That's just my two cents. |
