Since when does the police use QR codes on thier cruisers?

Since within the last few years. Police departments in the US have been beginning to place QR codes on some of their police cars.

Of course, they're not usually this large.

Examples include:

Monroe, Ohio: media.cmgdigital.com/shared/lt/lt_cache/thumbnail/960/img/photos/2013/08/07/28/16/QR-CODE-1.jpg

Boston College, Boston, MA: www.qrcodepress.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Boston-College-Police-Department-uses-QR-Codes-300x218.jpg

Stoughton, Massachusetts: o1.aolcdn.com/dims-shared/dims3/PATCH/format/jpg/quality/82/resize/421x295/http://hss-prod.hss.aol.com/hss/storage/patch/318ce42fe3121b562f05df85d9a169dc

Sioux City, Iowa: bloximages.chicago2.vip.townnews.com/siouxcityjournal.com/content/tncms/assets/v3/editorial/e/e0/ee06d969-7171-5b5e-9a5f-3873ffc728ee/4f75cdc7ec71e.preview-620.jpg

...and likely many others. It's part of police department's efforts to use technology and social media to stay connected with the community.
