Are you sure about that?
I looked up a couple of older Toyota brochures and they call it Toyota Truck.
For example, on this site:
importarchive.com/toyota/truck/1989-1995

Plus we already have a lot of them listed as a Toyota Truck on the site, and IMCDB also uses that name:

The Hilux name was used only until 1974 in the USA, the newer ones are just called Toyota Truck.
