you're also forgetting that CXL needn't be set in the USA. You can start your city with german, british, french, or American road textures, and as such the vehicles will follow. You get American police cars in American cities, and more European ones for for European cities, that simple really.

Renaults were sold in USA via AMC.

Including this, the Renault 5, 9, 21 and 25.
