Sputnik is a name for 1987-1991 non-export Lada 2109 (or 1984-1991 Lada 2108). Car in game is 1991-2004 Samara.

Since the game is set in Moscow, this should be called "Sputnik", Samara was the name used for the cars sent to export. The Russians named this car after the satellite. ;)
