Aston Martin also had a car called the Bulldog, but it's a coupe, or a sedan.

For me that car looks like Porsche 911 996 (1997-2004)

Developer is from Scotland

Well, that explain the Cosworth in America.

But still, I see this car more like Aston martin rather than Puma.

But then DMA took some small liberty with the overall car, as it isn't an official Ford licence.

Best overhead diagram I could find is this - model-copy.ru/images/ford_032.jpg

Some differences, mainly the curved rear boot/trunk. However, the front headlights are similar, and the overall coupe shape.

Unfortunately, Puma only sold in Europe, not US. in America, there is Ford Cougar, similar class to Puma, but it barely resemble this car.

Looks a bit long for a Puma. I always thought it looked like a Dodge Stealth.

I want to suggest that this is a Ford Puma.

The headlights especially match, the Puma had dark pointed lights (that actually used a darked part of the Fiesta-based wing in part!).
Rear passenger compartment tapers, and it has the rounded rear window.

Bulldog may have been an animal reference to 'Puma'.

As mentioned earlier, inexpensive Fiesta based, 1.4 and 1.7 litre so not too fast.

I think it may have been about 3 months, but it probably varies between developers. There was some initial confusion in that they thought we were implying their cars were licensed vehicles, but they were still helpful and it was nice to know that they had viewed IGCD :) There are probably other games where the developers should be utilised like this.

How many months? Was their eventual reply helpful?

Unfortunately it took months for Evolution (the developers of Motorstorm) to reply to me.

I've just sent an email to the UK support branch of Rockstar Games. I don't know any other addresses but maybe someone there can put me through to the game developers.

I just think it would be helpful if they told what their design inspirations were.

I don't see why it would, I actually emailed the developers of Motorstorm asking the same question and they obliged. Are there any specific cars that need confirmation such as this?

How about somebody emails Rockstar games, telling them about the site, and asking them if they could tell us what the cars in the GTA games were inspired by/based on?

Would this be a good idea, or not? Would they mind that we've taken captures from their game, it wouldn't breach any copyright, would it?

To be honest I think many of the cars on this site are just named randomly. This doesn't look more like a DB7 than another car and in the game it's not even very fast. Someone has named the Superbike as a Ducati 999, it could be any sportsbike!

Well it looks almost identical

This car isn't very fast and it isn't very exclusive (it's the car you start off next to at the very beginning of the game), so I don't think of this as an exotic sports car like the DB7.

and "Bulldog" was the name of an Aston Martin.

I don't think so, it's not a particulary fast or rare car, so it's modelled off some inexpensive coupe.

It is similar to Aston-Martin DB7
