Star Wars Fanatic 2008-05-08 01:25 | I have never really liked the True Crime series. Despite its accurate rendition of LA, Streets of LA always felt like it was trying to be three different genres at once, with driving shooting and fighting, but none of which were very well executed resulting in a very broken game plagued with numerous glitches. Add to this that it had some of the worst and unresponsive car handling I have ever experienced in a game, along with a detestable main character, and the result was shoddy attempt at a GTA clone, despite some big promises at the time. True Crime: Streets of LA was also met with an equally deplorable sequel, True Crime: New York City. -- Last edit: 2008-05-08 01:27:51 |
Red Grant 2008-05-10 18:30 | NYC I thought was better. |
SizSkiizd 2008-05-20 14:52 | Are there any more vehicles? |
Rinspeed 2008-05-20 17:42 | there are other but i dont have the time to put them for the moment |
AlexSheckler18 2008-05-25 15:48 | It's a ugly game! -- Last edit: 2008-05-25 15:49:02 |
TA-caprice-XI 2008-05-25 16:16 | This game was a HUGE dissapointment, I honestly can't believe the developers went through all the trouble of recreating 240 square miles of L.A., it's just so big and unnecessary - especially when you consider that you can only enjoy the game by playing though the missions (which, unlike GTA, are linear as opposed to being able to choose who you want to do missions for). There is absolutely nothing to do when you get the chance to free roam, except that you can respond to random crimes that occur, but this ends up getting repetitive and somewhat boring. However, like I said, this is an okay game if you just play through it, but despite the 3 different endings you can get, this game has virtually no replay value. And like Star Wars Fanatic said, the vehicle handling is terrible, I'm pretty sure the cars don't even have suspension physics - although i did like some of the vehicles on offer in this game. The soundtrack had some pretty good songs though ![]() However, alot of the problems with this game were addressed before True Crime: NYC was released but, it still felt rushed imo just my 2 cents ![]() |
Neon 2008-06-11 21:52 | Now it's complete? |
SizSkiizd 2008-06-14 11:15 | I don't think it's complete yet, conidering there's no police vehicles there.. |
Rinspeed 2008-06-14 15:21 | i dont see police cars in it |
SizSkiizd 2008-06-14 17:05 | So it's completed then? |
subzero 2008-07-27 16:24 | This game is really a huge dissapointment.True Crime streets of LA is one of the worst game I played. However, True Crime New York City is one of the best game to me! |
Emi-hime 2009-04-02 18:09 | I liked it the first time I played it, but it does get boring pretty quickly, and as people have said, the vehicle handling was rubbish. There's a black-and-white police cruiser that sometimes responds to the random crime alerts in free roam. Once you stop the vehicle you're chasing, the cops will also stop and get out, leaving you to drive off in their car if you so wish. Either that, or just start gunning civilians down and they'll show up eventually. ![]() |
Meowth <="=>. 2009-06-09 00:33 | Looks ok... |
TA-caprice-XI 2009-11-10 20:00 | Yes, besides the police cruiser (loads of them can be seen during one of the "final" missions), there's also an ambulance that has yet to be added, I think the only way to get it is by responding to a random crime where you have to chase a stolen one. There's also a really low-poly version of the ambulance inside the garages at every medical clinic, and a generic looking burnt-out wreck, somewhere near the "L.A. River". |
Star Wars Fanatic 2009-12-13 12:33 | In an unexpected move, there's now a sequel planned for True Crime next year: www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCwry5Z4LRM&feature=player_embedded |
subzero 2009-12-13 18:08 | Few hours ago, I try to watch this video it works and now his account was suspended and the video was subsequently removed |

dodge1970 2009-12-13 19:17 | That new one doesn't look like my cup of tea. |
takumi 2009-12-13 22:53 | The new true crime in Hong Kong, look nice !! www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7V9s1dJE-A |
subzero 2010-03-29 17:25 | 1) Poor Graphic 2) Poor texture and reflection 3) Terrible vehicle damage physics 4) Limited choices of vehicles 5) A lot of glitches Overall voice and sound is goood. |
takumi 2010-03-29 18:05 | I like True Crime series and i'm impatient True Crime Hong Kong coming in store, even if this series have a lot of bugs and a poor driving, its fun, the shoot and fight is good. More game isn't good by her graphic but by her style and her atmosphere. |
Rinspeed 2010-03-29 19:08 | You can now see all the tracks by country by clicking on the flag or the track (also in the stat) |
alexsheckler19 2010-04-06 10:04 | Bad game... I buy it only for the Cadillac Escalade... |
Takumi 2010-08-23 11:23 | I play this game now, because i'm waiting Mafia 2, and i stillis a nice game for battle, but i see missing some cars, Camaro 69, viper rt10, 360 spider, ford e-series ambulance, prison bus |
Rinspeed 2010-08-23 11:39 | Complete alors |
Takumi 2010-08-23 13:18 | mdr, ba je l'ai sur ps2 |
Ford78 2010-12-23 20:01 | Why image of Viper has been deleted? |
holden nut 2010-12-24 00:45 | there is nick kangs car missing, it's either a dodge viper or a shelby series 1. |
ItsaUserName 2012-03-03 11:50 | I've played it, and it is largely inferior compared to NY. How this game got a Platinum re-release boggles my mind. |
lcpdcv 2012-09-15 02:05 | All 4 of Nick's cars are missing, the cop CV is missing, the ambulance & firetruck are missing, and the armored car and prison bus are missing as well. I'd add them, but I have no cap. card and the PC version of this game is so bad it hurts. There's also the fish factory version of the Dodge Dakota pickup missing. -- Last edit: 2012-09-15 02:10:49 |
RacingFreak 2012-09-15 10:25 | I will see what I can do, if you tell me locations aswell. I think I know where the cop CV is at. |
Tycek 2012-09-15 15:20 | Isn't the interior pic made via some kind of trainer? I don't remember interior views in this game. |
lcpdcv 2012-09-15 20:31 | Don't even tell me-TC SOLA has a debug menu. ![]() Prison bus pops up in a random crime, as does the ambulance, the firetruck spawns at the beginning of a mission(I think it's the one where you drive to the Pagoda Resturant in Chinatown), and the fish factory version of the Dodge Dakota pickup is only driven in a mission as well.(Think the mission name is "The Great Escape".) Alternatively, you could just select the vehicle in the PC version's multiplayer menu and go ingame and take pics, rinse and repeat. -- Last edit: 2012-09-15 20:40:45 |
RacingFreak 2012-09-15 22:01 | Never heard about this one. How to unlock it? I play the game in Dolphin, that's how I took interior shots. I have the PC version aswell, does it have the debug mode? |
lcpdcv 2012-09-15 23:33 | Thought you were playing the GC version through Dolphin. ![]() I have no idea, wouldn't be surprised in the least if it did. |
lcpdcv 2012-09-16 00:06 | Eh, in my humble opinion, they should stay. An interior shot is an interior shot. |
RacingFreak 2012-09-16 09:11 | I wish they made Sleeping Dogs for Wii aswell. |
lcpdcv 2012-09-21 01:09 | To be honest, I find SoLA to be way better than NYC. The framerate isn't all over the place, and the vehicle variety in the traffic is way better than in NYC, and it's less buggy by far. Plus-everything just works. The driving, fighting and shooting are great compared to NYC. -- Last edit: 2012-09-21 02:01:45 |
RacingFreak 2012-09-21 07:56 | Yes, TCLA is indeed a lot better than TCNY, in pretty much every aspect, mainly because TCNY is a MAC port.. done by some amateurs or whatnot, they just failed to do it properly. Even if they ported the GameCube version it would've been better. But TCNY got some good features not to be dismissed. |
lcpdcv 2012-09-21 21:21 | Yeah, the PC port of NYC is shitty. Lots of bugged vehicle models that weren't bugged on PS2/XBOX/GC. BTW,about the framerate I was talking about the PS2 version of NYC. Going to complete the rest of the page, RF? -- Last edit: 2012-09-21 21:35:53 |
RacingFreak 2012-09-21 22:34 | Yeah, I need to catch the Prison Bus now. To be completed asap. |
lcpdcv 2012-09-21 22:42 | Don't forget the Firetruck, Ambulance, and fish factory version of the Dodge Dakota. |
lcpdcv 2012-09-28 00:39 | There's also a wrecked CV carcass that can be seen alongside the LA River and in front of a dilapidated house in 1 mission. |
RacingFreak 2012-09-28 08:39 | Got a pic? Or map location? |
lcpdcv 2012-09-28 21:29 | Episode V, mission 3. Right in the house's yard, behind some chainlink fence. -- Last edit: 2012-09-28 21:41:25 |
