takumi 2009-05-27 13:23 | very very fun game, i finished this game since 4 years ago, but its the only really destruction derby-like never made, for me its more good than flatout. 8-Ball, Bus derby, drive a ambulance or hearse véhicule in a derby session, the caravan race, cars football etc etc the choice for a game like this is impressionant. Look this video : www.youtube.com/watch?v=smr5sSVdKTI -- Last edit: 2009-05-27 13:26:06 |
Star Wars Fanatic 2009-05-27 14:03 | I agree, this is probably the most authentic destruction derby experience to date, as it incorporates a variety of real life events. Test Drive: Eve of Destruction was known as Driven To Destruction in Europe. |
takumi 2009-05-27 14:47 | yes my game is the european version, but the language is in english and called driven to destruction. This game with test drive off road 1& 2 its the 3 Test Drive special of the Test drive series |

dodge1970 2009-05-27 22:07 | Love it so much I still play it backwards compatability on my 360! Wonderful wonderful game! I was waiting for this one to be posted! |
Skid 2009-05-28 11:09 | Very fun game. Great physics, a fun career mode, and a good selection of car models. |
plymubishi 2009-05-29 04:42 | Wheres the vega wagon?! |
Skid 2009-05-29 05:52 | There are several vehicles missing at the moment. There's also a 1968-1969 AMC Javelin, an AMC Gremlin, a 1966 Ford Ranchero, a 1973-1977 Chevrolet Malibu wagon, and a Willys postal Jeep, among others. |
Black Bart 2009-05-29 22:08 | Takumi, would like me to post the images of the vehicles that Skid metioned as soon as I know how to do it? |
CA_NES 2009-06-01 05:29 | great game i have many great memories of playing this ![]() |
james2006789 2009-06-02 17:11 | This game pwns, very underrated by reviewers and it was an awesome game! -- Last edit: 2009-06-04 23:42:00 |
AMC_Pacer_Man 2009-06-05 17:20 | The 1968 AMC Javelin, and 1970 AMC Gremlin are missing. |
Black Bart 2009-06-05 17:37 | I'll add in those two cars and the other vehicles that are missing in the game as soon as I learn to use gamebridge. |
plymubishi 2009-08-01 03:19 | this game is the main reason I didnt disconnect my ps2 when i bought my ps3. if i knew how to get usable screenshots id fill this one for you with all the cars |
subzero 2009-11-08 12:42 | I plan to buy this game, but does it have a cockpit view? thanks |
bigblockbuicks1 2009-11-24 01:56 | This one of my favorite games but i do not see it a lot |
leoz 2009-12-13 05:36 | So, judging from all these positive comments and without the usual negaitve review or user debate, I take it this is highly recomended? It looks worth the money, can't believe I've never played it! Definitely my choice of cars, even if they're banger racers. There's just one question I need to ask... To complete the package, does it have a decent soundtrack? Eg: Rock, metal, metal, rock? -- Last edit: 2009-12-13 05:37:28 |
takumi 2009-12-13 11:24 | yes lol, the soundtrack countain only hard rock and metal sound |
Mach1Mustang 2010-01-24 03:26 | I love this game! It covers a genre of driving you can't easily find. I don't know of many other games that have a Demolition Derby Mode. Also, there is only one '66 Ranchero. |
Black Bart 2010-06-03 17:05 | Now I just made new pics for this game. My older pics have poor quality, so I made some better pics. And not to disappoint you, takumi, but the pics you posted are from other websites: media.ps2.ign.com/media/678/678432/imgs_1.html www.neoseeker.com/Games/Products/Xbox/test_drive_eve_of_destruction/ I also posted 2 Rancheros, I'm sorry. So I'd like to ask if I can post some more pics as comments, please. Oh yeah, I'm also making new pics for Saints Row, as well. -- Last edit: 2010-06-03 17:05:23 |
takumi 2010-06-03 17:23 | yes my pics for this game, its only editor pics, all editor pics from this site can be replaced ![]() -- Last edit: 2010-06-04 22:16:04 |
Black Bart 2010-06-03 19:58 | I'll get started. ![]() |
Black Bart 2010-06-03 20:31 | I had trouble which two cars were the Charger and the GTO, I'll post them both in one comment. |
Black Bart 2010-06-03 20:48 | I forgot to make an image for the Thunderbird and I lost the game. |
takumi 2010-06-04 22:06 | Very nice job Black Bart ![]() |
Black Bart 2010-06-04 22:35 | Thanks takumi, I've posted a few more cars (which haven't been validated yet): - Chevrolet Monte Carlo - 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air (Taxi) - A hatchback (I didn't know what it was) - 5 unplayable vehicles Are you sure you don't won't any new images for the other vehicles? And I'm still working on new images for Saints Row. ![]() |
takumi 2010-06-05 10:51 | So yes ! no problem Black bart ![]() |
Star Wars Fanatic 2010-06-05 14:24 | Good job, Black Bart. Did any of the cars have game names? |
Black Bart 2010-06-05 16:27 | Thanks, and yes, the cars (except for the unplayable cars) do have games names. At first, I didn't think they were that important, but since many other racing games have names of their own, I guess I should give them out. |
takumi 2010-06-05 17:27 | I want Atari make a second episode ! |
Black Bart 2010-06-05 17:58 | That would be great. |
Black Bart 2010-06-05 18:02 | Yes ![]() |
catalinaguy222 2010-08-03 23:20 | i bought a ps2 just for this and gta san andreas, E.O.D. is very addicting |
leoz 2011-03-18 18:26 | Recently bought the game. I agree with all the above comments that it's fun, but personally I would have enjoyed it more a few years ago when I was really into games like these. That's just me, though. The arcade mode is fun, even though not all cars and tracks are available at first and earning reputation points to unlock them can take a while. I enjoy the free-roaming ability of career mode, despite it being limited, but the career events are much more frustrating than fun. Aside from that, the car selection is extensive, the graphics are good, the handling of the cars vary but are otherwise acceptable and the dirt tracks are hard to drive on but the track scenery designs are respectable. ![]() I'd say my only real disappointment is the soundtrack - Aside from the game menu tracks and various metal sound effects, the driving soundtrack is made up of songs that are mostly pop-punk garbage. What's worse is that there is no function to choose songs to drive around to - no ability to create a playlist. Yet with only seven songs in the entire game, there's not much of a point. Yet again, that's just me who likes to complain. ![]() However, I must admit to the fact that it is one of the best games I've bought for a while. ![]() |
Black Bart 2011-03-19 16:15 | I wasn't really satisfied with the soundtrack, either. |
Ditha57 2011-08-02 22:01 | Wow, this game was a my second favorite and thanks for the car list. |
Mad Mike (3) 2011-09-22 23:17 | just decided to have a read through the IGCD driving test and discovered alot of the details are completely wrong 2 players split screen multiplayer: No // Should be yes Number of competitors in split screen 2 players: 0 // I think there are 12 AI drivers in 2 player split screen (can't remember for definite its either 8, 10 or 12) 4 player split screen multiplayer: No // Yes Number of competitors in split screen 4 players: 0 // Unknown, personally haven't had a chance to try 4 player Online mode: No Number of competitors in online mode: 0 Quality of multiplayer: Bad // It may be personal opinion but the multiplayer is pretty good, as you have access to all features/modes/vehicles/tracks from single player Damage to the scenery: No // Wrong! dynamic objects can be smashed (barrels, fences, signs) also barrels that are on fire can set the hay bales and wooden signs on fire if they're knocked into them Depth of field: Wrong: Clipping or fog near // what the **** is that suppose to mean?! if this is representative of the draw distance then it should listed as far/good Quality of the background and sky: Good Dust effects: No // Wrong again, dust rises from the trails of the cars During a crash, the vehicle: bounces without loss of speed // vehicles do actually slow down following impacts Mechanical adjustments possible: No // vehicle upgrades are available Mechanical management: No // vehicle upgrades are available |
ditha57 2012-05-10 08:22 | I agreed with that Mad Mike. |
vehicleguru 2012-06-22 21:14 | This one of my favorite PS2 games, and is my favorite out of the Test Drive series. |
lcpdcv 2012-07-28 20:33 | Absolutely love this game, my fav out of the Test Drive series, with Overdrive/2002 in 2nd. |
ditha57 2012-09-06 18:52 | Nicely said buddy, but I prefer Overdrive in 3rd and this game in 2nd. The first favorite of my Test Drive game is Test Drive 6 personally. No offense |
Quadmaster70 2012-12-16 09:03 | I love this game been playing it for years...they need to make and updated version of it, and personally I think the "Top" looks more like a Plymouth Horizon than a Chevette, just saying.. |
fellian 2013-02-07 20:10 | In my opinion, this is the spiritual sequel of the Destruction Derby franchise, unlike the disappointing DD Arenas |
carcrasher88 2013-02-07 22:50 | Gonna have to agree. I tried Arenas a few years back, and I didn't particularly care for it. This game, on the other hand, is excellent. |
lcpdcv 2013-03-02 21:37 | Absolutely love this game, damn shame it runs like ass in PCSX2. |
