The game is online only, EA shut down the servers so it can no longer be played I believe.

There is an upcoming MMORG called Motor World Online. It is based on this, and will feature a variety of cars, new and old. The website has a list of cars to be in the game, and images of those that have been completed.

managed to dig up some old pics of some of the missing cars: '64 galaxie, '69 Torino, '70 chevelle and '71 duster. There was also a C3 Vette, but I've got no shots of it. Also there was no '68 GTO, just a '69 and the '66

EDIT; Most cars were available in multiple trim options, such as base camaro; SS, RS and Z28 etc

This game needs to be really completed, that's what I am going to do next days. I have the completed car list aswell including traffic cars. Since it's not playable anymore, I will upload renders for the missing ones.

BTW, are these your own pictures?

Yes, the ones I've uploaded are my own. I do also have some other shots of cars that were already uploaded

Right each new pic that goes in the comments will be accompanied by the full name of the version used, such as the '70 mustang pic I've got is a boss 429 as opposed to a 302 etc

Great job thank you very much for this! :)

PS
Were you enable to get the '99 Mitsubishi Eclipse and the '97 Toyota Supra when they had put those in the game? Also, do you know if there's any way to play Motor City Online in Single Player mode?

No worries, all of My pictures were taken using a version that allowed the user to run a debug offline build and just race the cars. I don't have it anymore, just screenshots are all that remains. All of the cars I've posted pics for were the only cars in that version

OMG man, I always wanted to do this! Any chances on having this offline build? I were never been enable to see a guide or just a tool that allows you to play it in Single Player mode. I love MCO, hope to play it again someday, so thank you a lot of you will be enable to find this build you used to play in Single Player :)

PS
Are you the awesome dude at Motor World Online? Impressive work on these models!

I would arrange that for you, but sadly I no longer have those files as the program files directories from the old HD that I dug the pictures off are corrupt :(

I may be the same "Mad Mike" ;) Thanks for the kind words :), most of the pics on the site are all out of date but updates are coming to the Motor World.

One thing: With the '70 'Cuda, Hemi needs to be part of the model name as opposed to the extra info as its known as a "Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda" and 440 needs to be removed from the extra info aswell ;)

Will be AWESOME if you can do it, my very special thanks in advance! Been waiting for this moment for... 10 years? Yep :miam:

I'm still waiting for the day when EA decides to remake this. I remember when this game was announced, I was really into American cars (I was around 10 years old back then) and I was really looking forward to it, as it felt like a gearhead's heaven to me.
Then it was announced it would come without a single player, which made me sad as home internet connections in Hungary were few and far between back in 1999-2000.

One day at school a classmate told me his father managed to get a copy of this from USA. Gosh, how much I envied him.

Oh well, still it would be nice if this niche of racing games was filled in by a similar game. I know of a few games which might be able to fill that gap, but it seems like development really slowed down.

Hey, there still hope! After a bit of a research I've found how to play Motor City Online in unplugged mode :)

With bringing the old days back, I will be enable to complete the game here at IGCD aswell ;)

Yep, apparently there are mods available allowing you to play in Single Player mode and racing around :)

I will be enable to get pictures of the latest cars, the Supra and Eclipse aswell, although these were hated a lot by the MCO fans in fact. But I still think EA did this to catch the MCO fans into the Underground series... worst decision ever :/

That paticular version (known over at MWO as MCO unplugged) gives you access to the debug offline build with full access to the racing modes with or without AI and all of the cars (dependant on how up to date your copy of MCO is), but there is no Front end UI, so you have to change the numbers within the debug files to get the different cars and correct skins up ;)

That addition was the worst thing that could of been done, and was done to try and bring in "Ricer Fans" as the first fast and the 'not so' furious movie had just been released around that time. "I know lets take a game that is set in the '70s with '30s-'70s American cars and add in two modern japanese cars"

I remember someone made a Motor City Offline too, it was available from some Polish site, though it's gone for good now. And you couldn't get that to work on Win7.

The C2 Corvette is still listed as wrong year, its a '63 - thats the only year for the split window.
Also the Camaro is a '67, not a '68 - It may not have the vent windows, but no car in this game did ('69 charger, '67 chevelle, '70 nova, '65 mustang etc)

@Mad Mike: Corrected!

I will see if I could get decent pics of the traffic and rest of the cars later on, as I am currently working on a Motor City Online Launcher (to work with the debug version) :)

Since it seems this game has multiple trims for each model, shouldn't they all be listed separately?

Not really, unless you've seen pics of textures mods, I have been working hard on getting beta cars to work, soon I will upload what is still not here. Just be patient ;)

Meanwhile you can get the latest files right here.

If it does, then yes.

The Hurst/Olds is not the same as a 442, for example.

Could you please read my previous comment and dont double post? This is a paintjob for the '69 Oldsmobile Hurst 4-4-2 named Hurst Olds. And you were not supposed to upload it, because this picture belongs to Mad Mike.
