I actually like this new ridge racer. The only one I have played is the first one on the PS1 and I thought is was really bad so did not play it. I always liked driving very fast cars into things so I will deffinatly like this, and its on xbox to, so I can play it!

No wonder that now Ridge Racer Unbounded become the burnout wannabe because the devoloper is a Flatout creator. But actually I wish that would happen to this game. The previous are too bad.

Gonna be a blast though. Although now it's more like Split/Second + Burnout hybrid than Burnout/Flatout itself (i.r from the very first impression).

Quote Available at the regular retail price.

Ridge Racer Unbounded will be available on March 30 in a Day One Edition, including three extra racing machines and five Namco paint jobs.

The Ghoster: A low rider coupe with an electric blue finish
The Immortal: This red super sports beast isn't easy to tame, but it's worth the effort
The Road Wolf: Eat up the competition with this classic red coupe inspired by cars of the 60's

The five paint jobs, one each for five of the existing cars, are fully pimped in the style of PAC-MAN (Kinghawk GT), GALAGA (Hurricana CX), TEKKEN (Crimson TT), SOULCALIBUR (Wolfseye GT) and ACE COMBAT (Sylvian Type 8).

Namco Bandai also revealed the Ridge Racer Unbounded pre-order program with GAME.

RIDGE RACER 1 Car: The machine from the very first RIDGE RACER that began the legacy. (Fiera, confirmed)
The Hearse: A dark and gloomy hearse – with this machine no other car will end the race alive.
RIDGE RACER Type 4 Car: The hero car from RIDGE RACER Type 4, this is a fan favourite from the landmark of arcade racing. (R4 Bisonte? Can't remember)
El Mariachi: A flashy orange coupe utility with a crazy engine. If you're feeling a little bit country, get behind the wheel of this! (El Camino?)
RIDGE RACER 7 Car: The hero car from RIDGE RACER 7, this extreme sports car has a whole lot of power. (obviously RC410)
The Gallows: A classic yellow hot rod pick up that stands out a mile in the heat of the race (resembles the Crusader from Flatout 2)

That track editor is one of the best I've ever seen, the freedom you appear to have is genuinely surprising. I can see myself spending as much time using that as playing the game itself - I'm looking forward to making an I Am Legend-esque track if possible. Sadly, the PC version needs to wait for the next patch to able to properly use the track editor (basic track editor will always result in CTD). Groar.

Yes, but sadly, the PC version is basically a 'terrible console port'. No custom control (for both keyboard & gamepad. Only Xbox360 gamepad works, using other than it will make insta-CTD), rather unoptimized (FPS drops all over the place, although FPS limit is now 60 instead of 30 as in the console version), and almost no graphics config other than resolution, aspect scale, and anisotropic filtering settings.

Unless if you can deal with those issues (like me), you'd better wait for the upcoming fix/patch.

Eh? The performance goes from awful to terrible in middle to subpar spec comp. Strange since this game has subpar graphics compared to this recent 3 years' arcade racers (NFS The Run, DSF, Split/Second, NFS Hot Pursuit, etc)

My comp can barely run it in 1024x768 above, need to be played in 800x600 or below to get smooth FPS (I'm not kidding BTW, either the game doesn't like my comp, or my comp sucks hard, but it still able to run NFS:Hot Pursuit and Split/Second on medium details quite smoothly).

Or you just need to upgrade your PC. I am running it at 1920x1200 without problem at 60 FPS... also the Track Editor works fine :)

Uploading some pics in a little bit.

Indeed.
I like making very Hollywood-ish scenarios on my tracks. Example: tanker truck with cars crashed into it, or a sand pile jump with conveniently placed cardboard boxes in front of it.:D
Wanna accept that Sentra sedan?

What do you expect? Steam is nothing but casual retards.
The AI is a bitch and so is the physics engine sometimes-tough shit, deal with it, it's standard Bugbear fare..
Added 2 Kenworth 18 wheelers, the Ram Van, a Bobcat and a forklift....please tell me i'm not gonna have to re-do all the forms >_<
Rusted out Sentra hasn't been accepted either, btw.

Heck, I thought so. I never liked Steam community.

BTW, I'm posting some more pics anyways.

Back when that trailer came out, this game's concept was very different. It was going to be like Burnout Revenge, with emphasis on crashing into traffic, besides the environmental destruction. It was also going to be free roam.
Know what would be a great mod? Make it so there's traffic on the city streets...Bugbear said it's not possible due to "technical, design and time constraints"....Bullshit. It's possible.

Maybe, but it's quite simple game overall. This must have been Flatout 3 instead Team6's crap :)

All honestly, I still prefer Driver: San Francsico, Midtown Madness 2 or Driver for free-roaming.

This is definitely the true Flatout 3.
Another good mod would be the ability to set 0 opponents in the track editor.

I have to say, the district/event selection menu backgrounds are beautifully done; the cityscape reminds me of the one featured in the Matrix.

I actually thought I was going to be slightly let down with the track editor, but it's brilliant and I did manage to make tracks with a post-apocalyptic theme.

Grimnir for example, is "sb_player_dodgeram.bnk"

I SWEAR I remember watching a vid of a frag attack with that crane.
Also, PLEASE tell me how you did that. Does it have it's own menu selection/name? Or did you replace a vehicle?
Also, that looks like a beta vehicle selection menu, so i'll take it it does have it's own name/menu.

I extracted the compressed game files. That's ONLY a graphics for the car selection view (yes, the cars in the car select screen is merely a picture with .jpg format)

For the car data & model itself...I think Bugbear has ditched it in the last second (in the vehicles folder, out of 51 cars, there's one missing, which must be it).

Note: Does Shindo class cars are different than normal class cars (street, race, super)? By the way I've done it and taking about performance, possibly your pc might be weak (however mine is notebook, and on the same state as yours). Fps are awful to cope, right?

They're special class cars, although basically modified normal cars (think of Tuned/Extra class in classic RR series).
My notebook hardly runs it smoothly, but my PC (with quite similar specs, plus 4GB RAM and 1GB VGA RAM) runs it with zero problem at all. Must be memory issues (my laptop's VGA only have 512 MB memory)

That's wicked! Matrix style city and skies (Funnily, the special skies (option 1 and 2) looks closer to rain instead of post-apocalyptic theme).
Note: Wicked=Cool (Don't blame me on this)
