Star Wars Fanatic 2006-12-02 21:46 | Stuntman 2 looks set to take the driving genre by storm all over again next year, with what is most likely to be the introduction to the next Driver game in the series, just as the original was in 2002. Apparently, they have thoughtfully reduced the frustration level by making it so that you do not instantly fail, by issuing you with lives, meaning you can afford to make a hash of things more easilly. The game is also set to contain a more diverse set of locations - from the looks of things one of them seems to be a very Mad Max type post apocalyptic world |
ProwlerX 2006-12-02 21:46 | Hmmm. Mad Max and Bullit references? |
Star Wars Fanatic 2006-12-02 22:12 | Yes indeed Prowler, like the original it seems to have not so subtle references. As mentioned above, there seems to be a Mad Max setting going on here, along with the San Francisco of Bullitt and of course Eleanor from (sadly the modern) Gone In 60 Seconds ![]() |
ProwlerX 2006-12-04 16:31 | There was once a game for the XBox called "Chase Hollywood Stunt Driver". It was somewhat oif a ripoff of "Stuntman". It's tagline was something like: "Just when you thought this was it when you bought Stutnman!" Talk about originality these days. I think that's what I was trying to get at in my post on VaRaces about movies and video games. |
Star Wars Fanatic 2006-12-04 17:10 | Whilst I don't own an Xbox, the title sounds interesting but a look at some of the screenshots revealed it to be a typical budget game affair. |
Star Wars Fanatic 2007-03-04 22:55 | New in game footage of Stuntman Ignition can be found at www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_qcul5tlaQ |
ProwlerX 2007-03-05 02:19 | Wow. From the video, it looks like the sequences seem to come from the films Hooper and The Rock. The first couple scenes in the forest with lava appear to be cars escaping a burning town. The was similare in Hooper where Burt Reynolds drove his Trans Am through the exploding town. This was also done in the first Stuntman where you drove the yellow Camaro. And the second with the yellow speedster seems to definetly borrow the action from the Ferrari driven by Nicholas Cage through SF. I wonder what'll be next? |
qwerty_86 2007-03-06 08:01 | I was thinking it reminded me of Dante's Peak. |
crazyforcars12 2007-09-25 14:24 | There are more cars to be added, right? |
crazyforcars12 2007-09-25 14:26 | Are all of the cars unlockable in Stunt constructor too? Just ordered this game, can't wait! |
Star Wars Fanatic 2007-09-25 14:42 | Yes, when I have the game for myself I would suspect all the cars are unlockable for stunt constructor, yes. It looks promising, but I get the feeling the original will remain superior. -- Last edit: 2007-09-25 14:43:25 |
crazyforcars12 2007-10-06 16:12 | Got the game yesterday, for the PS2 and i'm a little dissapointed. The original was better in many ways, including the graphics! |
Star Wars Fanatic 2007-10-06 23:03 | I agree, it doesn't quite retain the magic that the original brought with it, but it was designed primarily for the next generation systems rather than PS2. The PS2 version doesn't have online, obviously worse graphics and omissions such as less AI vehicles present in stunt sequences. |
carchasesfanatic 2007-10-17 17:49 | Honestly i prefere the graphics of the old one. |
CrazyCars 2007-10-17 19:42 | Yes, it seems they rushed through all the modes except career |
CrazyCars 2007-10-17 19:47 | In fact i have just sold mine for £5 less than i bought it for, and i'm glad it's gone. Terrible effort |
carchasesfanatic 2007-10-18 20:33 | Yes id like to get rid of mine as well, its been a complete dissapointment for me, loving the first one this one has definetly put me off, every mission atmosphere and movie feels the same because the cars are all the same to handle really, it all looks too cartoony compared to the old one, and it feels less realistic, it is not a "chaothic", explosions and flying cars pass by next to you as if they were made of cardboard, the physics and movements of it are tough, they dont feel realistic, they sometimes dont respond propetly to the controls, not to mention the damage, in the first one if you hit a car it had damage, and it felt tough and heavy also panels came off, but in this one you hit a big Suburban and you roll it over as easy as rolling a tiny Mini, i bought it because i dont use to buy games except well known games such as GTA, Driver series etc, and i was really looking forward to this one and was happy for the fact that it was coming out also for PS2, but now i say that if i had known before buying it how bad it actually was i wouldnt have even approach myself to the videogames aisle of the mall. |
nubby 2008-01-06 03:13 | Is there an arena like the first one? |
Star Wars Fanatic 2008-01-06 03:17 | Yes, there is. |
CrazyCars 2008-01-06 09:01 | Don't get it because it has an arena, on the ps2 version there is no sound and damage in the arena |
nubby 2008-01-11 01:51 | Why isn't there damage? |
takumi 2009-08-01 21:13 | COMPLETED |
takumi 2009-08-01 21:14 | Sorry for quality |
Star Wars Fanatic 2009-08-02 16:06 | I still have this game on my to do list, so I can hopefully improve on the quality. |
2009-08-06 04:19 | You know, this game isn't bad. If you don't want to wait to unlock the Ferrari-style car, there's a cheat code for it. Can't remember it well, peace out!! |
Black Bart 2009-09-29 01:38 | Last summer, I beat this game. I thought it was a good game, but it was not as great as the 2002 original Stuntman. It was a lot harder, especially when you try to do it perfectly. I also didn’t like when you finish a film, you don’t really see your replays of the scenes when you see the trailers. Like you get to see in the original. But instead, you see different replays which probably the creators of the game did it. It’s a waste of gameplay. But anyway, no one posted what are in the six films and what they rip-off. Some of you recognized them, but still, nobody reviewed them. Like SWF did for the original Stuntman. Most of the parts of the reviews I got from Wikipedia, and some it I recognized. So here we go: Aftershock - An obvious disaster (volcano) movie. A mix of Volcano and Dante’s Peak. Mostly Dante’s Peak because it is set in a town in the middle of a forest and next to a volcano. (Set in British Columbia, Canada) Anyway, the highlight stunts include a bridge jump with the Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab. Another large jump involving the Dodge Viper/Honda S2000 and landing in a lake of lava. Another jump (so apparently most of stunts involve jumps) involving a teen on a dirt bike and landing in front of the teen’s grandmother’s cabin. The most difficult scene is when you’re driving a fire chief’s car, escorting fire trucks out of the town as it burns down to the ground, it involves a reverse 180 in a collapsing parking garage. Mostly during the film’s scenes, you have to avoid lakes of lava, huge meteors that crash down on your path and right in front of you and burning vehicles. Whoopin and a Hollerin’ II - Another obvious parody of The Dukes of Hazzard and sequel to the first Whoopin and a Hollerin’ in the first game. Some parts are the same and some parts and different. Yes, you still drive a Charger (known as “The General Stuart”) half the scenes of the film. There are still two insane guys who cause the trouble. (Most of it) There still the corrupt sheriff who tries to stop them. But now, instead of the setting in Louisiana (in the first Whoopin and a Hollerin’), this time it’s in Tennessee. Instead of driving for a cowboy in a Nova hotrod, you drive as bank robbers who stole an armored van and escaping the police. Constantly crash into police cars and a tanker truck. In the film’s first stunt, you’re driving a 1960s Dodge monster truck carrying a load of alcohol. (I think) Strike Force Omega - This is action/thriller/comedy is a mix of Mad Max and The A-Team. It’s set in an army base in Kyrgyzstan in the mid-1980s (obviously). The man who stars in the film is like a 1980s African-American movie star like Mr. T. Most of this film’s scenes are incredibly hard, especially in the first scene when you’re driving a tractor trailer hauling a missile. But highlight stunt of that scene is awesome where drop the trailer and the missile explodes. Overdrive - This is my favorite film in the game. It’s an action/thriller set in the 1970s in San Francisco. It’s a mix of Bullitt and Starsky and Hutch (Obviously). There are some great scenes where you drive a fire truck, escaping the police and crashing into police cars, civilian cars and this time, cable cars. I like the scenes where you the classic Mustang, some motorcycles and the best stunt of the whole game, driving an Enzo through the streets of downtown San Francisco, leaping onto buildings and crash into a helicopter. Never Kill Me Again - Another parody of James Bond, but just one of the films, Die Another Day. But this is my least favorite film of the game. The scenes are as hard as Strike Force Omega. Well actually, almost every scene in the game is hard. There nothing much to this film. Some of the vehicles are ugly and setting is in Beijing, China just like in the actual Die Another Day film. I prefer the last film of the original Stuntman by far. Night Avenger - There’s nothing to say about this film, either. All I have to say is this film is a flat out rip-off of Batman. It’s takes place in Chicago as Darkdom City and all the police cars say Darkdom Police Department or DPD and the police car colors looks like NYPD colors before 9/11. So this game is okay. I hope they make a third Stuntman with more great films, better controls and as challenging as the first Stuntman but not as insanely hard as this one. -- Last edit: 2009-09-29 01:39:43 |
Mach1Mustang 2010-01-24 04:00 | Wasn't there a DLC pack for this game? I think there was, but I can't be sure. |
Black Bart 2010-04-18 15:32 | I just finished creating new images of vehicles that have been posted with bad quality (no offence Takumi). So I would like to ask if I post the images as comments. |
takumi 2010-04-18 18:57 | No problem if you want to replace her ![]() |
Black Bart 2010-04-18 19:03 | Thanks, I'll get started. ![]() |
takumi 2010-04-18 21:27 | Good pics, you can replace all pics if you want Black Bart thx ![]() |
Black Bart 2010-04-19 01:10 | Thanks. Are you sure I can do the other images as well? |
takumi 2010-04-19 10:45 | Yes no problem ![]() |
Black Bart 2010-04-19 22:51 | Thanks, I'll start posting more images of vehicles. But as I post the images, I would like to ask a few questions. Is the Honda Civic and the Pontiac Wave the same car? Is there anyway I can get a good sight of the Step Van? (Not the Tik Tok Step Van) Is the Falcon a downloadable car? Is the Mercedes-Benz only shown where as it's posted? And where can I find the Sterling? Thank You. |
takumi 2010-04-20 17:21 | The step van is behind you start some scene, the Civic isn't the same car with Pontiac, I never see a Falcon and a CL in the game too, and the Sterling is from the mission like James Bond Die Another day with a ducati monster -- Last edit: 2010-04-20 17:22:17 |
Black Bart 2010-04-20 20:51 | Okay, thanks. Hopefully I'll get the Sterling, the Step Van, the CR-V, the Caprice (taxi) and the Grand Prix. I think I'll leave the Benz pic as it is because I don't think I can't find that car anywhere else. I also think that the Falcon is downloadable, I'll check. And I'm very confused with the Civic and the Wave. What is the difference between them? I'll post an image of one of them as a comment, now. |
takumi 2010-04-20 22:52 | very good Job Black Bart ! yes me too i never see this Mercedes and the falcon, may be its fior the screen editor only, and for the civic and the pontiac, i remember the front between two its different |
Black Bart 2010-04-20 22:54 | Thanks takumi. I'm almost done. As for the Civic/Pontiac I posted earlier. I actually doesn't look like a Honda Civic or a Pontiac Wave. Is it because they are not on the Xbox 360 (what I recorded the game footage for the cars) and on a different console? If so, I'll post the car as something else. -- Last edit: 2010-04-20 23:08:02 |
Star Wars Fanatic 2010-04-23 02:21 | Nice job Black Bart. |
Black Bart 2010-04-23 20:25 | Thanks Star Wars Fanatic. |
Black Bart 2010-04-25 13:43 | I had trouble getting the Lumina taxi that is in cutscene in the beginning of career mode on the Xbox 360, so I had to use the Playstation 2 version. Other than the crane, I'm finished with this game. -- Last edit: 2010-04-25 13:43:23 |
