I've noticed a normal Ram in one pic and there's loads of movie car chase pics :D
Edit: I also found some new car renders here which could replace existing pictures: www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.402609812643.181620.330415142643&type=1

In GAME the Special Edition is now £2 more than the Standard Edition. It's priced at £39.99 while the standard is priced at £37.99. I still think most people would pay the extra £2 though.

No online replays due to lag issues. Still though, even if a car is acting glitchy in your video, I think it would be funny, or you could point the camera another direction

On tag mode the other night, one of the cars flew into the air! Like the cheat code from San Andreas, fly cars.

I'm really starting to get annoyed with the noobs full speed ramming me on the servers. My friend was "host" since he was the first person on the server he managed to create and there are no kick/ban commands to be seen. If there was there wouldn't be so much noobs around

Ramming a car in trailblazer is a good actic because you will wedge the car into the delorean and you wil damage the car alot so the person will shift or spin out and you can have both trails.

matt__jon US (0)

Quote

Its not too hard to keep your car under control when rammed, unless they're going quite a bit faster than you

I also haven't had too much trouble side-swiping other cars out of the trails

What I find annoying is when someone gets the tag and parks down an alleyway. Not so bad with a lot of players, but with only two players, the other player wins too easily.

Alleyway? Try the same dilemma on Lombard Street (the twisty road that winds like a snake)! That, is one heck of a situation. Someone could broadside you on one of the bends easily!

I played with this guy who kept driving down the same alley when he got the tag, when i get the tag I drive on the pavement on the right side of the road and go down alleys when ever I pas one.
In trailblazer I make sure and am hitting the delorean so there is not chance of somone going in front of me. I sideswipe any cars that are i the trails, most the time they lose control.

Unfortunately the rammers do use full speed ramming so I am unable to countersteer to stop the oversteer :|

Edit: Oh yes, alleyways and lombard street are really good hiding places for tag, if someone does come towards me on lombard street I hide close to the wall and watch the other guy go wide and miss me :D

Quote from Gamespot review: "There are also additional co-op races like Clean the Streets, where you have to prevent marked vehicles from reaching their destinations, and a Freedrive mode, where you can kick back and enjoy a leisurely drive around the city. While on the whole these modes work well, there is a noticeable amount of slowdown when you enter heavy-traffic areas on freeways, which turns races into something of a slideshow."

Split screen free roam?! I haven't done that since Midtown Madness 3 or Midnight Club! :wow:
Shame there might be some lag though. Plus I'm not sure if cops roam around, fun to have some split screen chases too :D

Driver SF will be in IGCD Awards 2012. We take the games beetwen 1th september 2010 and 31 august 2011. And it's in september because some years ago we want to do something for the anniversary of IGCD (birth 17 september 2006). This year IGCD will have 5 years.

It said that the reality check included 3 "remote control" cars, somthing about a 3D race track, and something else I can't remember. Maybe the things are real, hence the name reality check, or in-game.
Does any one else know about this?

Not tried it yet, however I seem to recall very briefly seeing them glowing during my visit to Ubisoft Studios, so I think so unfortunately.

Instead of using the normal brake, hold down the handbrake until you come to a complete stop without hitting anything. That one where it tells you to do a 200m handbrake stop is bloody impossible! I've done literally every other dare apart from that one!!!!

Actually, if you're talking about the classic Jaguar (I believe its the E-type, not terribly familiar with them though), I did run into that one on the highway and immediately dropped what I was doing! Other cars I've seen once so far are Diablo, Shelby Cobra (non-mustang), Viper (though another one drove past while I had it), Ruf Spider, MP4-12C. So it works alright. Upon completion of the game the traffic flow gets messed up. the cars carcrasher88 mentions spawn THE WHOLE GODDAMN TIME and the ford crown vic taxi seems to retire from service, replaced by the impala and the minivan taxi, ambulance and the armoured van are nowhere to be seen, yet there are so many fire engines. The only diversity you get is when a random sports car appears, which makes the whole thing feel unnatural and forced
This has ruined the replay value of what was until now an enjoyable game. I'm going to try and play new game plus, and see if that fixes it. This game needs a patch UREGENTLY.

Are you guys kidding me! That 200 meter e-brake stop was easy. Just use an older car with brakes that aren't so good! ;) The '74 Monaco pulls up from 120 mph in 140 meters. Did it with the '69 charger R/T from 142 mph and stopped in well over 200 meters without using the boost rubbish haha. If anyones really struggling try doing it while going downhill

Although I will agree that something is wrong with the car spawning palette/selection after game completion. Average domestic cars (non-police '99 crown vics, '06 caddy DTS, '10 towncar, '72 vista cruiser, '01 blazer, '08 base mustang, both F-series trucks and Rams) don't seem to ever appear after completing the game outside of side missions. Haven't seen the old COE semi truck ever spawn with a trailer either.

Loved all the movie challenges except the two that don't really seem to be based on any actual movies (not in stockholm any more & fascination) and they've all got a decent them tune that could of almost been ripped right out of the target movie/TV show. Would of preferred some kind of A-team or smokey & the bandit 2 chases. I'm surprised since they have licenses for various GMCs that they didn't try for the '80 General Semi that Jerry Reed drove in smokey and the bandit 2 and was also used in Knight rider. Who knows they may have done but its not as high a priority as the T/A from the movie I guess haha

During progression through the game we load an entire new set every chapter (with loading screen. If they knew this was going to happen, then why on earth did they choose such a rubbish traffic set, especially that stupid mini Aston Martin thing spawning the whole time and the ford crown vic taxi being replaced by the impala, which is outrageous !
I'm guessing that they put the game plus in to get around that problem, which seems rather lazy. On a more upbeat note I saw this guy on the Ubisoft forum had this awesome idea: an option on the menu to switch between 70's, 80's and modern traffic sets. I think that is a brilliant idea :)

Simple, you'll have to wait for the one time they spawn like the one time you'd see them in the real world :P Anyway half the cars are unlocked by just buying all the garages so I wouldn't worry about not finding the one you're after.

On an interesting side note: shifted into a 2010 challenger, the girl in the passenger seat was betting $20 that 'Jack' - Tanner couldn't scare her, so I proceeded to do the usual old fashioned car action, huge slides, high speed into oncoming traffic without hitting anything, charging at pedestrians, huge jumps, cop chases and nothing happened; "boring", "this is soooo lame" and "I think I'll get my knitting out" were among the common responses. However at the end of destructive police chases where I rammed alot of the cruisers she said that this bet is what keeps her going and something is wrong with the city; "large groups of ravens, cops in comas, criminals at large" and so on. Annoyingly I pushed it too far and wrecked the car after what may have been an hour of attempting to scare her. Not sure if you are actually supposed to be able to scare her or not but there was alot of dialog there so maybe, have to see if I ever find them again.

Exactly. When you finish the game, you have a certain set of cars, and the rest filter in every once and a while. You just have to keep an eye out for them, as the most that spawn in an area at a time is 3 (trust me, I've done testing on this. Saw three Bel Airs, then it was replaced by a different car).

The other way to get some of the cars (MP4-12C, Miura, LP670-4 SV), is to find them being chased by the police, but you'll have to lose the cops if you shift into them.

You've slightly mis-interpreted what I've said. At no point did I say because you've bought all the cars that they would appear in traffic! Yes you do end up with a traffic set that does generally stay relatively constant, but some cars are being forever rotated despite the game chapter not changing and some cars seem to appear more in some locations than others. For example the older (50s-early 70s) cars seem to appear more frequently when down south, imports such as the audis, alfa romeos seem to appear more in downtown (not meaning they don't appear elsewhere but that location seems to be the most common location for that car) so it is possible that taking the rotating spool of traffic car slots allocated to the "less-common" cars that all cars could appear given a long enough cycle of in-game time. That is where my "Simple, you'll have to wait for the one time they spawn like the one time you'd see them in the real world" came from.

Also let me be more specific about my other point "Anyway half the cars are unlocked by just buying all the garages so I wouldn't worry about not finding the one you're after" - more specifically I meant that half of the cars are unlocked for purchasing in your garage by buying the other garages. I may have accidentally insinuated that a vehicle will spawn more in traffic once unlocked for purchasing but that was not the intention.

Hope that clears things up

"Simple, you'll have to wait for the one time they spawn like the one time you'd see them in the real world"

All I have to say is that this line basically assumes in real life, I'll only see CTS-V's, Range Rovers, Mustangs and 5 other cars all day long. Obviously I won't see 95% of the exotic cars in a week in real life, but for the normal cars, would it have hurt the framerate that much to occasionally load one different car at a time? Apparently so, given they were so hell-bent on 60fps.

Luckily I see rare cars often enough, and when I do challenges and dares, it gives me the last car I got from the garage in mint condition (I really like this feature!)

Ok I may have made the assumption that he was referring to wanting the appearance of rarer and more exotic cars as opposed to common cars, which is why I made that point, that you would have to wait for that one rare time when you do see an exotic or rare vehicle, which seems to vary depending on location and other variables. Also there was a reason I put a little ":P" at the end, so relax and stop being so serious. It does seem the majority/casual-audience do want to see more exotic cars (whilst I most certainly do not) whether that fact is true of the majority of users on this website I do not know but certainly it seems to be the case of the majority of people in the real world, so apologies if I made the assumption that the desire (when it comes to automobiles) of the majority of real world demographics directly translates into the majority of users on the 'net, and subsequently assumed that someone was annoyed because they couldn't get the system to spawn rare vehicles instead of 'common' ones. Every system has its flaws and would you all rather the GTA system of re-using any vehicle models already in memory so your current car appears everywhere?

2011-09-13 17:14

Quote

Just to clear up the traffic spawning problem:

-The problem is that the same set of 10-15 NORMAL traffic cars appear all the time in that chapter, so they do not change.
-rare cars (old cars, expensive exotics and sports cars, muscle cars) appear just like the normal traffic, meaning each chapter there is a certain set of them.
-new traffic cars can be seen to rarely spawn in certain areas,e.g trucks a vans spwn in the industrial area
-when you start a new chapter all the traffic will change giving the impression that traffic changes over time.
-the traffic does not change over time if you do not complete a chapter
-buying cars and garages have no effect on the traffic cars or thier spawn rates.

Ubisoft Reflections were having a go at the online with a few people in Europe! I managed to get in the game and I beat Martin Edmondson at Tag!!!! :D

They said that all of the online events are getting an extra layout tomorrow! This even includes the qualifying layouts!

Martin actually had a headset on, so I got to hear quite a few of his favourite tactics! Like spawning right next to people in Blitz and spinning them out, apparently.
When we all spawned into Dodge Viper SRT10 AC-R's for a Sprint GP race, he said that the Viper is a very 'marmite' car in the office. You either love it or hate it!

Everyone from Reflections was only level 2 though! So they disabled weapons! (Well at least they did when a switch-over of players happened! Martin forgot to turn off the weapons during his round!)

Overall, it was an awesome experience for such an awesome game! This has been one of the best games I've ever played for a long time! And meeting the creative director online and playing with him was just such a bonus! (For a normal person like me, I never even dreamed of talking to Martin, yet it's now a reality! :D)

The Skyline in Driver is a 1996, it IS legal to import a 1996-98 R33 Skyline to the US, only IF it is modified to meet US safety standards.

From Wikipedia:

Which basically means, this vehicle IS legal.

As for the RS models, not 100% sure about the RS6 Avant, but Audi IS currently selling the TT RS here in the US.

I spotted yet another forklift for our unidentified collection. If I remember correctly, it was at the garage which has a U-turn entrance/exit. The garage was next to a dirt track I think.

There's a Starion on 1:40, 3:20, and 5:15, and it seems used by another protagonist than Tanner

it's a statue, not a real car. IGCD is for motorised car. And stop with multiple submission of the same car. If it was delete, it's because it's not interesting (a lot of time you put a same car that is already on the list, it's not interesting to have an unplayable version of a playable car for example). Sometime you tired me when you think that you are the king here and all that you post HAD to be validated.

The pic I first posted was edited by a member from GTAWiki, and it was in PNG form, so I couldn't upload it regardless, but I did find another pic that showed the car in a wider shot media.gamer.nl/site/dump/20121112104504-gtav_gnl_2012112_08.jpg The blue car in front is irrelevant for now, but I added a red square around the red car behind. And blacked out the watermark,And, already on the GTA V page I saw a pic that's been posted with a red square around it.

Well, personally I loved this game (despite my initial reservations about the story etc.), one of the best driving/racing games I've played in recent years - it even has splitscreen multiplayer. :D The only downside is that the main career mode is pretty short, IMO.

Not every game these days has DLC which is just stuff taken out before release *cough* DiRT 3 *cough*. A few game companies do still make actual expansions long after the game's been made, and this is one of the few games which needs it; as Antti-san said, the story mode was annoyingly short.

I do agree that games today are full of DLCs with the cut content before release and stuffs from previous games (for example, Forza Horizon). This game is great, but too bad a game like this didn't have any expansions (like The Sims series). There are lot of things that this game can be improve, and one or two expansions (especially for storyline, vehicle list, and an ability to change list of cars that can be spawn in traffic) might help this game to shine again.

Tanner's car is actually a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T, not Charger.

Anyway, I like to see the yellow RUF and blends of licensed and generic cars in traffic. I wish there is some way that Ubisoft would release other game using some leftovers from Driver: SF unused generic cars.
