Should be good, but I fear it will be too much like Split/Second.

This looks like my kind of game; I love pretty much anything with a post-apocalyptic setting. Pity it's only on the PS3.

IMO, it looks a bit more like Armageddon Riders than Split/Second, although it does look like you can destroy the surrounding environment in this game aswell. I wonder how big the "sandbox" will be.

From what I've played so far, if you liked Split/Second and MotorStorm you can't go wrong. However, there seems to be less events and overall cars than in Pacific Rift despite the fact there are 4 new vehicle classes. Review coming next week.

What's the bet this will now be delayed in the wake of the Japanese quake? Hope any Japanese users on here are okay.

First batch is up!

Sorry for the delay, annoyingly my review copy had a problem with the online multiplayer and the only way to solve it was to delete my save data. This consequently removed photos I had already taken for the page without me knowing so I had to start over :(

Personally I think the vehicle list is a bit disappointing when seen against Pacific Rift - there were over 100 in the last game with at least 8 in each class. Here there are only 3 in each class totalling around 40 vehicles, though some DLC has been promised. Not many of the vehicles from the last couple of games seem to have made it either, but again they may re-relrease them as DLC.

Each vehicle can also be heavily customised where you can change parts such as grills and headlights in addition to the paint scheme, so you can make them look quite different. I obviously took the captures using their stock appearances.

What I also don't like is you don't unlock anything by playing through the single player, as each new vehicle can only be unlocked online which takes time.

So if you don't have internet at your house, you can't unlock any new vehicles? (I do, but I'm just thinking of people who don't) That seems like a poor design choice to me.

It looks like it yes. I lost all my progress when I had to delete my savegame but haven't bothered to complete it again as you don't unlock anything!
